Women In Tech & Entrepreneurship

Remedy is excited to announce a new initiative to partner with female-founded startups through our sponsorship of Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship events. Remedy Product Studio helped develop ClassPass’s platform from 2014 through 2016, and we’re also the team behind FairFrame’s corporate diversity and inclusion technology.

FairFrame was last year’s winner of NYU’s $300K Entrepreneur’s Challenge and the company seeks to combat racial and gender prejudice in the workplace by targeting biased language in employee reports.

Alice Kong hosted a Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship Happy Hour at our WeWork NoMad location and guests loved the opportunity to connect in a casual setting with like-minded women. Guests and founders represented various industries including Health & Wellness, Beauty, Tech, Social Media and Venture.

Anne Gifford of Tusk Ventures spoke about the gap between male and female-founded VC backed startups and the shocking statistic that only 2% of VC dollars went to female-founded companies in 2017. Now the question remains, how do we bridge that gap?

Companies like The Wing have recently led initiatives to fund female-founded companies and VC firms like Tusk are making active efforts to invest in female-led companies. In addition, SoGal Ventures is the first female-led millennial venture fund investing in diverse entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Asia. We’re excited about what the future holds for women in tech and entrepreneurship and are glad to be a part of the process.

Thanks to Anne for taking the time to speak, and we’re looking forward to this month’s event!
